When encountering large faults, karst, or fractured zones, explosive charges should be avoided as much as possible, or auxiliary charges should be used. The charge spacing is often determined based on the minimum resistance line and the blasting effect index, and is related to the blasting type and topographic and geological conditions. The values listed in Table 12-4 can be used as a reference for determining the charge spacing. The minimum resistance line and blasting effect index in the table should take the average value of adjacent charges. Calculation of the charge amount: 1. Standard explosive consumption q value (1) The standard explosive consumption q can be selected according to Table 12-5. (2) When the blasting scale is large, blasting funnel tests should be conducted to determine the q value. (3) The standard explosive consumption can be calculated using the following empirical formula and modified with equation (12-15), that is, concentrated charge.
